How do you take an amazing, versatile knife (the kiritsuke) and make it better? The answer - you make it out of Damasteel Damacore. Damacore steel has a core of RWL 34, which is arguably the best knife steel in the world. Then to make it beautiful, it has been clad on either side with hakapella pattern stainless steel damascus. The finished result is not just stunning but extremely effective and efficient.

The kiritsuke itself is versatile as it can not only be used to push-cut, but also to rock cut due to the slight belly near the tip. The tip itself is also a great feature, allowing precise cutting, even with such a long knife. Indeed, it’s long cutting edge again helps to make it super efficient in the kitchen. The fact it’s hardened to 61 HRC also means it gets razor sharp and will stay that way.

The hidden-tang Wa style handle is made from stabilised African blackwood. Not only beautiful but hard and naturally oily which makes it perfect on a kitchen knife. The blackwood has been broken up by a spacer made up of brass wave in resin sandwiched between white/black/white G10.

As ever, the knife will come in a Bourne Knives wooden presentation box.
